I got a closet organizer out of storage after 15 years. the darn thing is all sticky, what's the best goo re?
remover. I tried windex, that green stuff that smells like a church bathroom, alchol, bleach cleaner, and dishwasher detergent. what should do the job without removing the paint. The organizer is metal wire racking with a white paint over the top, made by closetmaid. thanks for all the help. (I was thinking goo off or carb cleaner)
Goo Gone-it's awesome! Spray it on, let it soak for a few seconds then wipe off. Repeat as necessary. Then do a quick wipe down with warm dishwater on a rag to get the Goo Gone off (kinda oily). It's not harmful to most surfaces and it smells great (like oranges). Found at Lowes, Home Depot, Walmart, etc. Basically where ever cleaning supplies are sold.

if its 15 years old and has goo all over it that your having a hard time getting off - your best bet is to just throw it out. a closet organizer cant cost that much…
go to IKEA.com and look for one.
they have really nice furniture & accessories like that sort of thing. i'm sure you can find something there.

You might try Goof Off- But be careful of it with the paint.
Good luck!

You need a degreaser to cut through that. It's not going to be easy because it's been on there for a long time now. I suggest 409. It works pretty good. You'll need something to scrub too. I normally use one of those green pads or a sponge with a scrubby side. Just nothing that would scrape the paint off. I would suggest Easy Off but that would probably peel the paint off with it. You could also try a powdery scrub like Comet or Ajax. Good luck!
